//Nintendo Dual Screen (DS) Product Review//

The Good:

If you are now wondering what the DS stands for in Nintendo DS, I will be glad to tell you. The DS stands for Dual Screen, that’s right, two screens. Nintendo has always tried to test the boundaries and find new ways to have fun while playing video games. The dual screen allows gamers to use both screen s in union to play through many games. For instance, in Mario, the top screen the game would be display the game ed and the bottom screen would serve as a map. Also, the bottom screen is a touch screen like the ones in many PDAs. palm pilots. With the handy stylus, gamers can draw and send message s to one another using the DS’s software called Pictochat. There is also a mic, the can be used in some games to communicate or complete an action. As for the games, Nintendo may not have produced the best graphics but by implementing the mic, the stylus and the two screens, gamers can have fun in a whole new way. Nintendo is also is implementing multi -player gaming through DS - to - DS connections and over the Nintendo Wi-Fi network, so now playing Mario Kart against someone in China is possible. Debuting at a price of $125, the Nintendo DS doesn’t leave your pocket as dry as the PSP does. Also with a so much significantly lower price, the DS is also more friendly friendlier for parents who are looking for a handheld to purchase for their children.

The Bad:

If you are looking for an all-around handheld, the DS is not for you. It is purely a gaming system despite the fact they plan to release an Opera browser in the future. Also , the DS lends its self to a younger age range of audience so it is rare that you get a game with a deep story plot. Like the PSP, due to its limitation s, it is hard to make use of the Wi-Fi capabilities in places that require a VPN. Otherwise, I don’t feel there is nothing anything else bad negative to say about the DS.

Overall:

Since I got my DS, I’ve been content with it. I’ve been able to enjoy hours of tournaments of Mario Kart with my friend s and I’ve played people around the world. When I compare it to my PSP, I think it is inferior, but in the eyes of a gamer, one may say the DS is better because it has games that are fun and innovative ways to play. Besides playing games on it, I also use my DS to draw when I get bored at times. Overall, I give the DS - a 5 5 out of 5 for its ability to combine Nintendo great games with an innovative and creative way to play them.
